Computers for Beginners
Three basic components will be covered in this 18-hour session:  Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Windows, and Introduction to the Internet.
- Introduction to Computers will introduce terminology used to understand computers, what is new in computer hardware and software, and discussions about why you want a computer and what it can do for you will be covered.
- In Introduction to Windows you will learn basics of how to use Microsoft Windows such as how to use the mouse and graphic interface as well as organizing the information on the computer. Use WordPad and Paint to create letters and pictures and set control panel options.
- Introduction to the Internet will cover what the Internet is, how to get connected

Small business owners and their staff can utilize computer technology to operate their businesses more effectively.  The major Microsoft computer programs are designed to support this initiative.  In this 10-week course participants will learn the basics of:
- Microsoft Word (Word Processing) which is useful for email as well
- Excel (Spreadsheet) allowing "what if" budgeting and data storage
- Outlook (Information Manager) organizing a calendar and contacts
- Internet Explorer (Web Tools) for searching and information on web value

Introduction to Microsoft Word
Learn the basic skills to type letters using the program Microsoft Word.  You will learn how to enter and edit information, save and retrieve files, and how to use tabs and bullets.  You will also cover spell check and how to format the document you produce to give all your documents a professional look.

Introduction to Excel

Senior Computer Classes

Digital Scrapbooking

Introduction to Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop has been the industry leader in digital photo editing for many years now. In this class we'll learn the basics of using Photoshop Elements (the consumer version) to manipulate our photos and also take a look at Photoshop CS2 (the professional version). Drawing with Charcoal
This course will introduce beginners to the basics of drawing still life with charcoal.  Dave will guide you through projects designed to teach line, composition, perspective, value (tone) and mark-making.  It is the goal of this class to enrich the lives of students not only by teaching a fun and useful skill; but it may also expand knowledge and appreciation of art.  Images and readings will be provided to help achieve these goals.
Dave has a diploma in Fine Art from Grant MacEwan College and a Bachelor of Fine Art with great distinction from the University of Lethbridge.  He also has had group and solo exhibitions in the cities of Edmonton, St. Albert and Lethbridge.

Community Boating Safety Course

Sushi Making 101
Enjoy hands-on learning with Lethbridge's Lighthouse Sushi Chef Chris Kuriyama!  This innovative program is designed to provide all of the basic requirements for apprenticeship training.  You will gain first hand experience with both the food preparation and food design.  Students will be encouraged to experiment and experience different flavors and new creations in the sushi world.   Upon completing Sushi Making 101, Students will have the knowledge of making the basics of sushi and have the ability to become a sushi apprentice.

Learn to Run
Have you wanted to learn how to run but not sure where or how to start?  Now is your chance.  This program focuses on learning the basics of running.  To help get you started, there will be an informative half hour session covering topics such as nutrition, log entry, and proper footwear - a new topic each week.  We will venture out to do a group walk/run increasing in time and distance each week to finish off the session.  Research has shown that walking/running has the most benefits for health and weight loss.  It is also one of the easiest and enjoyable activities to learn.  Come join us for 12 weeks and you will be on your way to a slimmer you!  No class May 21.
